Backflow prevention testing service
Have you received a notice from the council to test your backflow prevention device? Our expert backflow testers can complete the backflow testing and submit the report to the local council on your behalf.
Backflow prevention devices require an annual inspection. Any fault in the RPZ or DC valve can reduce the water pressure flow, and pollute the drinking water which can result in being penalised by your local council. What are Backflow Prevention Devices?
Backflow devices prevent harmful contaminants from entering the city’s main water supply. If back-siphonage or back-pressure occurs, it can pollute the potable drinking water and cause local residents to fall sick.
Double check backflow device (DC) and Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow device (RPZ) are commonly used to prevent backflow. At Ryan Old Plumbing, we install, test and maintain DC valves and RPZ backflow preventers. RPZ valves are installed in high-risk areas whereas DC backflow preventers are installed in low-risk areas. Your backflow prevention device will be installed in accordance with the hazard rating of the property.
Where are Backflow Prevention Devices needed?
They need to be fitted in properties which can contaminate mains water supply like:

Excellent service. So good to deal with. I recently renovated my bathroom and the guys were so helpful. They handled a few curveballs and got my bathroom up and running in a timely manner...
I would like to thank the service of the experienced plumber who came to quote the installation of tap fittings I purchased myself. Nothing was a problem and he installed them on the spot...
Fantastic! Ryan was friendly from the first call and had a young bloke attend my leaking hot water in Manly within half hour, had the job completed within the next half hour and kept me up to date...
How to fix a leaking tap?
Leaving a leaking tap unfixed is super easy to do – you hear it, you complain about it and it wakes you up at 3 am. You then say a few select words and then likely go back to sleep again until it wakes you up the next night.
That is why now is the best time to fix your leaking tap! Whether you choose to complete the job yourself or call in the professionals, you will be more than glad when that pesky tap isn’t leaking anymore. Although fixing a tap yourself can be a simple task if you know what you are doing, it can become messy, difficult and expensive if it isn’t done right. This is definitely something to consider when you are looking at fixing your tap.
